Lost Woods

Coming Home

I grew up resenting the lack of customizable options for the user experience of apple products and the "better than you" judgement-vibe of the ads and much of the consumer-base.

But over time windows products got more and more clogged up and pushy. Even running ads in the start menu. Still, I knew I wasn't an apple guy.

I was in my late twenties when I was first encouraged to use linux.

It was like coming home.

The generosity, freedom, adaptability, and actual support (instead of attack) for using things until they broke beyond my repair.

Most of all, the respect. Linux put the keys on the table and expected me to be able to drive, willing to learn, or to stay out of the garage.
